As the VP of Design, I was responsible for enhancing the overall UX maturity of the organization. I worked to build a design-led culture and establish design systems that ensured consistent and high-quality user experiences across all products and services. This involved collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate design thinking into the product development process, and providing coaching and mentorship to designers and other stakeholders.
To further support our design team's success, I also implemented DesignOps practices that streamlined workflows and optimized our design tools and resources. This included establishing clear design guidelines, standardizing design processes, and implementing project management tools to improve efficiency and collaboration.
Lastly, my role as VP of Design involved managing stakeholder relationships and advocating for design at the executive level. I worked to build strong partnerships with product, engineering, and business leaders, and presented design solutions and recommendations that aligned with company goals and user needs. Through effective communication and collaboration, I was able to build trust and ensure that design was an integral part of the company's strategic vision.

During my time as a Regional Manager, I proposed and revised company policies, creating a supportive and productive work environment. Additionally, I managed logistics for office expansions and relocations, working closely with contractors and vendors to ensure success. Through establishing partnerships with schools, universities, and education providers, I was able to contribute to the growth and impact of our organization. When faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, I acted swiftly to adjust policies and arrangements, prioritizing the safety and well-being of our team while maintaining seamless operations.

As the overseer of Snapask's product design and visual/brand design operations, I was responsible for establishing and maintaining tools, workflows, and design systems. Through effective leadership, I grew and managed a team of 30+ designers spanning six APAC countries. I introduced UX research and UX writing to the product development process, which helped to establish a user-centered approach. Furthermore, I designed a growth ladder for design team members and established a team culture that nurtured talent and fostered creativity.

As a UX Designer, I was responsible for designing the user experience for Snapask's web and mobile product. I worked closely with the development team to ensure that the product was easy to use, visually appealing, and met the needs of the target audience. Additionally, I provided guidance on visual and art directions for the company's first product and rebrand, ensuring a cohesive and effective design that reflected the brand's values and goals. My contributions helped improve the overall user experience and strengthen the company's brand identity.

Successfully led a small design team of two other designers, overseeing their design work and ensuring that projects were delivered on time and to a high standard. My notable projects include designing the user interface, packaging, user manual, and marketing collateral for a smart rearview mirror powered by Android. I also designed the logo and identity system for products and services launched by Adenovo. Additionally, I designed website and mobile application concepts for new business ideas showcased in TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2016 and received significant attention, as well as an experimental UI for the second-generation smart rearview mirror. My contributions helped improve the overall design quality and user experience of these products and services.

Undertook various design projects, such as creating corporate identity systems, designing brochures, posters, business cards, and packaging for diverse applications. I also designed websites, mobile applications, and retail store wall art, as well as created marketing collaterals for clients.
In addition, I have contributed to the construction of exhibition booths during international trade shows, where I oversaw the process and provided liaison services between our clients and contractors in cities such as Munich, Koln, Friedrichshafen, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. My expertise in design and project management has contributed to the success of these projects, resulting in the satisfaction of clients and stakeholders.
Products Shipped ’16 ― ‘22
Dubbed “Uber for homework”, Snapask is an online learning product that offers tutoring services to students. It allows students to connect to tutors and receive instant one-on-one academic support. I was responsible for the overall user experience design and the product branding direction.
As a new product venture launched by Snapask in 2019, sofasoda focuses on adult education, offering online courses, articles, podcasts, and mentorship matching to help young professionals succeed at work. I led the overall branding, product design, development, and strategic direction as the interim product owner.
Snapask acquired this 30+-year-old magazine in 2019 with the hopes of capturing a larger audience and breaking into the language learning space. I led the overhaul of the branding, look and feel of the print magazine, as well as the experience design of the new digital product.
